Brian Schertz

Brian Schertz

Brian is a third-generation pilot and instructor who grew up around airplanes in central Illinois. After soloing from a grass landing field under his father’s watchful eye while in high school, Brian completed his initial flight training while studying engineering at the University of Illinois. During his studies, he discovered a love of teaching and a deep passion for flying. Those interests led Brian to flight instructing, where he now enjoys teaching primary, instrument, multi-engine, and glider students. He continues to expand his aviation knowledge: he recently completed an Airline Transport Pilot rating and began flying for his father’s agricultural aviation business. When he is not flying, Brian teaches test preparation classes for graduate school admission and at a local high school and college. Brian is excited to bring his aviation and teaching background to Synergy to help students achieve their flight training aspirations.
